How a FORTIFIED Roof Saves You Money in Louisiana
The savings from a FORTIFIED roof are not a one-time rebate. They repeat every year the certificate is in force, which is five years per certificate and renewable.
Two Tracks, Compounding Yearly
Act 533 carrier discounts reach up to 40 percent with select carriers. Regulation 136 adds a mandatory hurricane-portion discount for policies issued on or after January 1, 2027. Over a decade, a mid-teens percentage annual discount adds up to real money.
Lower the Upfront Cost Too
Louisiana homeowners can stack three money programs on a FORTIFIED roof: the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program grant of up to 10,000 dollars when a lottery round is open, the Act 404 state income tax credit of up to 10,000 dollars, and Act 533 insurance premium discounts of up to 40 percent with select carriers: Liberty Mutual and Safeco up to 40 percent, USAA up to 37 percent, State Farm up to 35 percent, Allstate up to 30 percent. Louisiana Regulation 136 adds a separate mandatory discount on the hurricane portion of the premium for policies issued on or after January 1, 2027.
