Act 533: Louisiana FORTIFIED Roof Insurance Discounts

Louisiana Act 533 directs insurers to offer premium discounts to homeowners whose roofs meet the IBHS FORTIFIED standard. It is one of two separate savings tracks tied to a FORTIFIED roof.

The Carrier Discount Levels

Up to the following levels with select carriers: Liberty Mutual and Safeco up to 40 percent, USAA up to 37 percent, State Farm up to 35 percent, Allstate up to 30 percent. Actual discounts vary by carrier, policy, and property. Confirm with your agent.

How to Claim It

Give your carrier the FORTIFIED certificate issued by an independent IBHS Evaluator. Regulation 136 adds a separate mandatory hurricane-portion discount on policies issued on or after January 1, 2027.
